Canadian Mining Hall of Fame Call for 2026 Nominations

TORONTO, MARCH 17, 2025 – The Canadian Mining Hall of Fame is excited to open its 2026 call for nominations. Each year, the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame celebrates the remarkable contributions of select individuals within the industry and honours them into its prestigious ranks during the annual induction ceremony.

“Members of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame are pillars within our industry and are recognized for their outstanding leadership and achievements, having made a positive and lasting impact on Canada’s mineral exploration and mining community,” says Deborah McCombe, Chair of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame and Technical Director, Global Mining Advisory at SLR Consulting Ltd. “Canada is regarded as a global mining leader, and the members of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame reflect the very best of what our industry represents and are inspiring role models for future generations to learn from and follow.”

Nominations can be submitted through recognized member organizations, or associate member organizations of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame. These include:

Any organization or member of the public is encouraged to nominate a candidate, provided the
nomination is routed through one of the aforementioned organizations.

The nomination deadlines for 2026 are as follows:

  • May 1, 2025: Deadline to approach a member or associate member organization regarding a nomination for induction.
  • May 30, 2025: Deadline for submission of nomination materials to a member or associate member organization for review.

Nomination packages must adhere to the outlined criteria and should not exceed six pages, in addition to the Nominator Letter (maximum two pages). Each nomination must also be supported by a minimum of five and a maximum of 10 letters of endorsement.

The 2026 inductees will join the esteemed roster of over 200 individuals who have been inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame since its establishment in 1989. Those selected for induction in 2026 will enter the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame on January 8, 2026.
