Toronto, March 16, 2026 – The Canadian Mining Hall of Fame is pleased to officially open its 2027 call for nominations. Every year the CMHF celebrates the distinguished careers and contributions of a select group of individuals within the industry and honours them at the annual induction ceremony.
“Members of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame are leaders and visionaries within our industry who have made a lasting, positive impact on Canada’s mineral exploration and mining community,” says Deborah McCombe, CMHF Chair and Technical Director, Global Mining Advisory at SLR Consulting Ltd. “Canada is recognized around the world as a leader in mineral exploration and mining, and the members of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame represent the best of our industry, serving as inspiring role models for future generations to learn from and emulate.”
Nominations can be submitted through recognized member organizations, or associate member organizations of the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame. These include:
- The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum
- The Mining Association of Canada
- The Northern Miner
- The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada
- The Mining Associations of British Columbia, Ontario, Québec, and Saskatchewan
- The Association for Mineral Exploration
Any organization or member of the public is encouraged to nominate a candidate, provided the nomination is submitted through one of the aforementioned organizations.
2027 nomination deadlines:
- By May 1, 2026: Approach a member or associate member organization regarding a nomination for induction.
- By May 29, 2026: Submission of nomination materials to a member or associate member organization for review.
Nomination packages must adhere to the outlined criteria and should not exceed six pages, in addition to the Nominator Letter (maximum two pages). Each nomination must also be supported by a minimum of five and a maximum of 10 letters of endorsement. The 2027 inductees will join the more than 210 outstanding individuals who have been inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame since its establishment in 1989. The 2027 selected candidates will be inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame on January 14, 2027.
